An arson attempt in Malaysia took an unexpected turn after the suspect’s own motorcycle caught fire along with the two other vehicles he had set ablaze.
The suspect, a man in Melaka who is still at large, had allegedly set two cars in a policeman’s residential garage ablaze before the flames engulfed his own vehicle, forcing him to flee the scene on foot.
An initial investigation by the police revealed that the two vehicles destroyed by the fire were found alongside the culprit’s burnt motorcycle.
CCTV footage of the incident shows the man carrying what appears to be a bucket of inflammable liquid, arriving on his motorbike and beginning to douse the two cars on the porch.
After he sets the vehicles ablaze, the fire unexpectedly spreads to his own motorcycle. The man is then seen fleeing on foot, leaving his motorcycle at the scene of the crime.
The sequence of events has since attracted significant attention on social media, with many users mocking the man’s failed arson attempt.
Police are currently searching for the perpetrator.
