Police in India have issued a Lookout Circular (LOC), a type of 'lookout notice', against the husband of a Kerala woman and her young daughter, who were found dead in their Sharjah apartment in July.
The Kerala State Police Crime Branch issued the notice against the husband after receiving a complaint from the woman's mother.
According to reports, Vipanchika, the mother, and Vaibhavi, their daughter, were found dead in their Sharjah apartment on July 8. Forensic reports issued by the Sharjah authorities confirmed that the child was suffocated, while the mother died by hanging.
The woman's family alleged that her death was a result of domestic harassment and abuse from her husband over dowry.
Sharjah Police reportedly also recovered a suicide note thought to have been written by the victim, in which she alleged that her husband and his family had subjected her to repeated mental and physical abuse.
The LOC was issued to prevent the accused from fleeing justice and to ensure that he faces questioning in Kerala.
The mother's body was repatriated to Kerala, while the child's body was laid to rest in Dubai by the father's family.
