The General Sports Authority (GSA) signed a co-operation agreement with the Municipalities and Agriculture Ministry to develop sports infrastructure in Bahrain.
The agreement was signed by Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, GSA chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Municipalities and Agriculture Minister Wael Al Mubarak, in the presence of GSA deputy chairman Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and GSA CEO Dr Abdulrahman Askar.
It covers the development of the football field at the Comprehensive Municipal Centre in Tubli and the incorporation of the Municipal Hall near Souq Al Shaabi into GSA’s sports facilities.
The initiative is part of an integrated facilities project for government entities, aiming to enhance facility efficiency and provide a safe, motivating environment for sports at all levels.
Shaikh Khalid highlighted the importance of the partnership in supporting national sports development, praised the joint efforts towards sustainable development goals, and noted that integrated sports infrastructure is key to supporting athletes, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and advancing Bahrain’s Economic Vision.
