HORSERACING – Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) announced yesterday an extension of its partnership with Howden, which will continue as a platinum sponsor of the Bahrain Turf Series for the next three seasons.
This comes under the leadership of the Prime Minister’s Court Minister and REHC High Committee chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The renewed agreement was signed by REHC CEO Yusuf Buheji and Howden Bahrain CEO Adam Knights.
Commenting on the extension, Buheji said: “We are pleased to continue our successful partnership with Howden, whose involvement since the launch of the Bahrain Turf Series has played an important role in its development.
This renewed commitment highlights the confidence placed in the strength of Bahrain’s racing product and its growing international appeal.
“Our focus remains on building long-term collaborations that support the continued expansion of the sport, both locally and globally, and we thank Howden for their continued trust and support.”
Howden’s extension of the Bahrain Turf Series sponsorship reinforces its commitment to the global equine market and strengthens its connection to horse racing.
Howden is an established insurance broker to the racing industry, with a market leading equine division that provides solutions to equestrian associations, racecourses, racehorse trainers, stud farms and bloodstock, riding schools, livery yards, and horse owners.
Knights said: “The Bahrain Turf Series has grown impressively over the past four years and is now a recognised fixture on the international calendar. We are proud to have supported that journey and are pleased to be extending our commitment for another three seasons.”
“Our partnership with the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club reflects our belief in the importance of long-term investment in sport and community. It’s a relationship we value greatly, and we look forward to seeing the Series continue to flourish.”
Howden CEO David Howden CBE commented: “I’m thrilled we’re extending our relationship with Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club for another three years.
“His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa has achieved amazing things during this time. And it’s been a privilege to play our part in both developing racing here and supporting the wider equine community.
“Our clients love to come to Bahrain for the intensity of the competition, the quality of horses and the unparalleled hospitality. Energy, entertainment, exhilaration. It’s all there. And the next few years promise even more excitement.”
