BOXING – BAHRAIN’S boxing national team member Jayden Price has advanced to the semi-finals of the boys’ intermediate 46kg division at the 2025 USA Boxing National Open, currently being held in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The event features wide participation from fighters coming from all over the world, competing for top honours in various weight classes.
Jayden advanced to the last four after a victory by points 5-0 against his American opponent Jesse Valenzuela. All five judges scored the match in Jayden’s favour with four at 29-26 and the other at 28-27.
Jayden’s next bout will be against Christian Rollins, also from the US. Jayden will be looking to continue his fine start and advance to the title fight. The other semi-final clash is between Americans Silas Rollins and Ahlon Lewis.
Bahrain Boxing Federation (BBF) president Rashid Feleyfel affirmed that Jayden’s participation in this year’s USA Boxing National Open is a significant gain for Bahraini sports, noting that such major tournaments raise the level of preparedness of players and provide them with a valuable opportunity to gain further international experience.
Feleyfel added that the BBF enjoys unlimited support from Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and great interest from GSA deputy chairman and Bahrain Combat Sports Council president Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
The BBF also pays great attention to supporting the national team’s boxers in various international events, and works according to a clear strategic plan aimed at developing a broad base of young fighters and honing their talents through internal and external training camps, in addition to regular participation in high-level competitions.
