RUGBY – BAHRAIN’S First XV squad was named yesterday for their away match tomorrow against the Dubai Sharks First XV in the 2025-26 West Asia Premiership.
The contest will be played at Al Habtoor Polo Club in Dubai, the UAE, and it is scheduled for a 3pm kick-off, Bahrain time.
It is the First XV’s second fixture of the new season. They opened their campaign last weekend with a resounding 34-16 away victory over the Dubai Exiles First XV at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai.
The kingdom’s team announced yesterday by Bahrain Rugby Football Club (BRFC) include David Ofori-Manteaw, Mackenzie Oliver, Andries de Kock, Aidan Ascott, Henk Gouws, Sesona Macala, Charlie Farmer, Rory Drummond, Kenta Katsuna, Cormac Fox, Josh Petro, James Newey, David Evans, Gregor Smith, Jack Hocking, Aled Morris, Nick Young, Cameron Thomson, Tian Jacobs, Kelvin Kanenungo, Josh Drain, Joel Kidgell, and Joseph Rizzardi.
Adam Wallace is the BRFC’s rugby director, Lindsey Gibson is the forwards coach, Jack Parry the scrum and defence coach, Ross Preedy the backs coach, and Greg Heath the strength and conditioning coach.

In other West Asia Premiership clashes this weekend, the Dubai Dragons First XV battle the Exiles, and the Abu Dhabi Harlequins First XV face off with the Dubai Hurricanes First XV.
Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Golden Oldies are set to be in action today in the Doha Vets 10s Tournament, to be played at Doha Sports Park in Qatar.
BRFC have two Golden Oldies squads in the event. The Golden Oldies Select team include Anwar Ateeq, Steve Lawrence, Roshan Fredrick, Sheldon Bennett, Khalifa Aldoseri, Bradley Price, Denzelle Askin, Gautier Lopez, Will Trodd, A’Jani Stokes, Gareth Lloyd, Aiden Doyle, Rudi Du Plessis, Michiel Borst, and Ali Al Shaikh. They are coached by Dan Vanegas.
The Golden Oldies Vets side feature Ally Cruickshank, Graham Hardyman, Abdallah Faoury, Lee Stones, Mark Swinton, Jaun Coetsee, Herman Wagner, Lee Leach, Chanaka Ranaweera, Kevin Harris, Adam Guzy, Mike Metheringham, Hermanus Retief, Dan Allen, Azdi Mansoor, Enosh Trehan, and John Jarvis.
