HANDBALL – AL Najma were last night crowned champions of the Bahrain Super Cup 2025.
Najma secured the title with a last-gasp 29-28 victory over Al Ahli in the competition’s final, played yesterday at a jam-packed Bahrain Handball Federation Arena in Um Al Hassam.
The game was tied at 28-apiece with less than a minute remaining in the contest, but then Najma were awarded a penalty with only seconds on the game clock. Mujtaba Al Zaimour stepped forward to convert the seven-metre effort and seal the game for Najma.
Najma won the Bahrain Super Cup for the seventh time in the event’s history, including for a fifth year in a row.
