MOTORSPORT – BAHRAIN International Circuit (BIC), ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East’, hosts the Kingdom’s top karters this weekend for the final two rounds of the 2025 Sakhir Rotax MAX Challenge (SRMC).
Set to take place at BIC’s world-class grassroots motor racing facility, Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC), meetings three and four of the SRMC campaign will be lighting up the 1.414-kilometre CIK-FIA track on back-to-back days today and tomorrow.
Large grids of talented karters of different ages and nationalities will be competing in their very own Rotax-powered karts across the series’ various categories, including the Micro MAX, Mini MAX, Junior MAX, Senior MAX, and DD2 Max.
The SRMC is being held as a prelude to the 2025/2026 Bahrain Rotax MAX Challenge (BRMC), the Kingdom’s premier karting championship, which kicks off at the end of this month.
It is also taking place to help Bahrain’s top karters and others from abroad warm up ahead of their highly anticipated participation in the upcoming Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals (RMCGF), which will be hosted by BIC and BIKC this November 29 to December 6. The RMCGF is one of the biggest international karting events held annually, and Bahrain will be welcoming more than 400 of the world’s best Rotax karters from over 60 nations, who will be competing over a full week in Sakhir. Both days of action this weekend will feature tight-knit racing in daylight conditions and at night.
Free practices begin from 2.50pm, to be followed by the qualifying practices at 3.40pm. The pre-finals flag off from 4.55pm, setting the stage for the finals – to be held under lights – starting from 6.35pm. The podium ceremonies are scheduled to begin from around 9.05pm following all the action.
Expected to headline the entry list of participants are round one winners Charlie Page in the Micro MAX class, Oliver Spencer in the Mini MAX, Shun Sekiguchi and Nathan Joseph in the Junior MAX, Luca Houghton and Najashi Rashdan in the Senior MAX, and Abdulqader Qasem and Musaad Albassam in the DD2 MAX.
All are welcome to attend this weekend’s events. Entrance to BIKC is free of charge.
Following the SRMC, the 2025-26 BRMC campaign gets underway with the first of eight rounds on October 31.
