The Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) has announced the launch of its new website.
It is a comprehensive information platform that allows subscribers and other beneficiaries of the authority’s services to access technical, regulatory and service-related information, said a statement yesterday.
The site also provides interactive electronic services, enabling users to complete transactions and view their bills and payments with high accuracy and transparency.
“This initiative forms part of the authority’s strategy to automate processes, improve service quality and enhance digital integration, meeting subscriber expectations and facilitating smoother transactions,” said the statement.
“The new website reflects EWA’s commitment to innovation, sustainability and improving the subscriber experience.
“It has been developed with a modern, user-friendly interface that adheres to best practices in the user experience, allowing subscribers and visitors to navigate the site flexibly and smoothly.”
The website is fully compatible with all smart devices, supporting access to electronic services anytime and anywhere, thereby enhancing usability and addressing the daily needs of subscribers.
It contains all data and services related to the electricity and water sectors, including procedures, documents, requirements and technical and regulatory information relevant to individuals, institutions, government agencies, contractors and electricians.
Additionally, the site contains extensive knowledge-based content covering various aspects of the sector, including production, transmission and distribution data, the number of facilities, historical documentation of sector development, current and future projects as well as highlighting sustainability initiatives and environmental efforts.
“This underscores the authority’s commitment to transparency and continuous development,” added the statement.
“The website also offers integrated electronic services, allowing subscribers to log in using the electronic key (eKey) to manage their accounts securely and conveniently.
“These services include opening and closing accounts, paying bills online, tracking requests, booking appointments, submitting complaints and accessing a wide range of other services that enable users to complete transactions efficiently.”
EWA president Kamal Ahmed affirmed that the launch of the new website aligns with the authority’s vision to enhance the subscriber experience in line with sustainable development in the kingdom. He noted the adoption of advanced digital technologies and a flexible cloud infrastructure to ensure service continuity, fast performance and strengthened security levels.
Meanwhile, EWA vice-president, customer services and digital transformation, Muna Al Hashimi commended the efforts of the teams involved in implementing the project.
She emphasised that the website’s development was the result of comprehensive institutional co-ordination among various departments, ensuring the delivery of a modern digital platform that meets subscriber expectations and reflects the authority’s commitment to effective and sustainable digital transformation.
The updated website demonstrates EWA’s dedication to keeping pace with digital transformation in Bahrain by providing innovative and efficient services that support the goals of the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, contribute to improving the quality of government services and enhance transparency and institutional communication.
