Bahrain’s travel and tourism potential, along with the kingdom’s developed infrastructure in this sector, is showcased at a major expo in London.
The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) is participating in the World Travel Market (WTM) 2025, being held in London from yesterday until tomorrow.
The exhibition is one of the world’s leading international events dedicated to the travel and tourism industry, attracting thousands of exhibitors and visitors from across the globe each year.
Bahrain’s participation comes through a national pavilion that embodies the strategic partnership between the public and private sectors in developing the kingdom’s tourism industry. The pavilion hosts 14 co-exhibitors, including Gulf Air, Exhibition World Bahrain, as well as a number of hotels, resorts, and destination management companies.
“Bahrain’s participation in this global event is part of the kingdom’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its presence on the international tourism map, promote its advanced infrastructure and tourism assets, and expand its network of partnerships with major global players in the travel and tourism sector – all in line with the goals of the Tourism Strategy 2022-2026,” said BTEA chief executive officer Sarah Buheji.
“We take great pride in Bahrain’s participation in this prestigious international event. The exhibition provides an ideal platform to highlight the promising investment opportunities within Bahrain’s tourism sector and to promote major projects that support the path of sustainable growth. The kingdom’s pavilion reflects Bahrain’s rich heritage, cultural diversity, and the progress of its tourism ecosystem, while showcasing the country’s readiness to host large-scale international events,” she added.
The Bahrain pavilion has attracted significant interest from visitors, representatives of international travel companies, and destination management organisations. The BTEA team is holding a series of bilateral meetings with key global partners, including airlines, international hotel chains, and event organisers, as part of efforts to enhance business tourism and promote Bahrain as a leading destination for conferences and major events.
The pavilion also highlights Bahrain’s latest tourism projects and strategic initiatives under the Tourism Strategy 2022-2026, which aims to increase the sector’s contribution to the gross domestic product (GDP) and diversify the kingdom’s tourism offerings.
Bahrain’s participation in the exhibition underscores its strong commitment to achieving sustainable tourism development and enhancing the kingdom’s global competitiveness, in support of the goals of the Economic Vision 2030.
This year’s edition of the World Travel Market is being held under the theme “Re-imagining Travel in a Changing World.” In addition to the national pavilions, the exhibition’s agenda features key panel discussions focused on major topics, including sustainability, technology, diversity, accessibility, inclusion, marketing, the global economic landscape, and future travel trends.
