His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday issued an edict restructuring the National Taskforce on the Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Diseases.The taskforce shall be restructured under the chairmanship of the Health Minister, with the following members: Health Ministry assistant under-secretary for public health; Industry and Commerce Ministry director of testing and metrology; the director of animal health at the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry; the director of the youth empowerment at the Youth Affairs Ministry; the director of climate change and sustainable development at the executive office of the Supreme Council for the Environment; the director of student activities at the Education Ministry; the director of the media office at the National Communication Centre (NCC); the head of medical services at the Primary Health Care Centres; the chief of medical staff at Government Hospitals; The consultant and head of the department of cardiothoracic and vascular surgery at the Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa Specialist Cardiac Centre; the consultant of endocrinologist, diabetologist, and obesity specialist at the King Hamad University Hospital; the vice president of the Bahrain Diabetes Society; and the president of the Bahrain Cancer Society .
