Iconic Kuwaiti actress Hayat Al Fahad, nicknamed "Sayidat Al Shasha Al Khaleejiya", passed away during the early hours of Tuesday after a long battle with illness. She was 78.
Al Fahad had a distinguished career spanning over six decades, appearing across various mediums. While she was most prominent on television, she also maintained a significant presence in film and theatre.
She was best known for classic shows such as Khalti Qomasha (1983) and Ruqaya and Sabika (1986), as well as her role in one of Kuwait’s earliest cinematic works, The Cruel Sea (1972).
Appearing in productions throughout the Gulf and the wider Arab world, Al Fahad was a pioneer for acting and television in the region, leaving behind a lasting and influential legacy.
