BASKETBALL – The star players of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), who will be playing in the first-ever official PBA games in the kingdom this week, arrived last night.
The delegations of Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, and Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots were welcomed upon reaching the island by officials from the Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA) and a large crowd of fans.
The visiting teams were received at Bahrain International Airport by BBA secretary general Ahmed Hafez and BBA official Ahmed Kaldari.
They are scheduled to play two games tomorrow and Wednesday at Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town. The Elasto Painters will be taking to the hardwood on both nights. They first face the Hotshots tomorrow evening and then go up against Barangay Ginebra on Wednesday. Both games are scheduled for 7pm tip-offs.
The contests in Bahrain are part of the ongoing PBA Philippine Cup in the league’s 50th anniversary season, and they will be coinciding with the kingdom’s National Day celebrations.
Fans will have a chance to interact with the visiting stars in a meet-and-greet tonight at the indoor atrium of Oasis Mall in Juffair, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
It is exclusive for all ticket-holders to the PBA contests. Those who have yet to purchase their tickets can do so at Oasis Mall this evening from 6pm to 9pm. Tickets can also be bought through a QR code published on the Bahrain Basketball Association Instagram account @bh.bba.
