FOOTBALL – BAHRAIN Football Association (BFA) president Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa participated in the ordinary general assembly of the Arabian Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF), which was held in Doha, Qatar.
Chairing the meeting was AGCFF president Shaikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, and it was attended by other heads of football federations from across the Gulf.
The assembly discussed several issues on the agenda. The AGCFF approved Saudi Arabia and Iraq as hosts of the AGCFF’s under-15 and under-23 tournaments, respectively, with the dates to be determined later after the matter is referred to the federation’s competitions committee.
The assembly also discussed Saudi’s hosting of the 27th Gulf Cup, scheduled to take place from September 23 to October 6 next year.
The AGCFF stressed the need to exert more efforts to continue the successes that Gulf football has witnessed, as well as to develop the tournaments included in the federation’s agenda, especially at the level of age groups.
