His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday met Tourism Minister Fatima Al Sairafi and Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority chief executive officer and Exhibition World Bahrain chairperson Sara Buhiji at Gudaibiya Palace.
The meeting took place following Manama being crowned as the World’s Leading Business Travel Destination at the World Travel Awards 2025.
Exhibition World Bahrain also received four awards during the event, including Middle East’s Best MICE Event Venue, in addition to global recognition as the World’s Leading Large-Scale Wedding Venue and the World’s Leading MICE Event Venue.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister emphasised that the continued development of the kingdom’s tourism sector reflects the strong commitment of the national workforce, alongside ambitious initiatives and programmes being implemented in line with the kingdom’s comprehensive development, led by His Majesty King Hamad.
HRH Prince Salman outlined that Bahrain continues to strengthen its competitiveness as a leading destination that combines unique tourism attractions supported by an environment that encourages growth and investment opportunities across the region.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the extensive efforts that contributed to these achievements and awards, noting that they reflect the commitment and co-operation of relevant entities in strengthening the tourism sector and advancing its role in achieving national development goals.
He highlighted the tourism sector’s role as a key pillar of development, commending the commitment and expertise of the national workforce, which continue to support the sector’s growth and success.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister underscored the kingdom’s efforts to showcase Bahrain’s diverse activities and promising opportunities, which contribute to economic diversification, promote sustainable growth, and enhance the tourism sector’s contribution to the economy.
Ms Al Sairafi expressed her gratitude to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his continued support in advancing the tourism sector.
Prime Minister’s Court Minister Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa and several officials who played a key role in the completion of Exhibition World Bahrain also attended the meeting.
