BASKETBALL – Bahrain’s under-16 basketball team jumped 38 places in the latest Fiba rankings, reaching 56th globally, 11th in Asia, and sixth among Arab nations.
The rise follows wins at the Gulf Championship in Bahrain, the Arab Championship in Cairo, and an eighth-place finish at the Asian Cup in Mongolia.
Bahrain Basketball Association president Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa said the achievement reflects strong planning and investment in youth development, noting the team’s competitiveness at continental and Arab levels.
