Meeting the needs of residents with the aim of enhancing stability across the Southern Governorate was discussed at a key meeting yesterday.
Governor and Security Committee chairman Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa chaired the committee’s meeting of 2026.
It was attended by Deputy Governor Brigadier Hamad Mohammed Al Khayyat, Isa Town Police Station head Colonel Hamad Al Hammadi and officers representing security directorates within the Interior Ministry.
Shaikh Khalifa emphasised the role of the committee in implementing the directives of Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa in following up on and meeting the needs of residents.
He underlined the importance of continuing to achieve security accomplishments during the current year and strengthening security and safety within the governorate’s community.
Shaikh Khalifa reviewed the committee’s progress on reports received and the security efforts undertaken during 2025, which contributed to enhancing the security role in the governorate.
He commended the level of readiness, security preparedness and speed of response in handling these reports, as well as the efforts and joint co-ordination achieved over the past year with various security bodies in serving the residents of the Southern Governorate.
The governorate Police Directorate reviewed the most prominent security and inspection efforts exerted in organising awareness campaigns aimed at enhancing security and safety in the governorate.
Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali commended the continued efforts of the General Directorate of Civil Defence in a series of joint awareness campaigns during the camping season, and the role these play in enhancing awareness and safety among campers and desert visitors.
