BASKETBALL – MANAMA and Al Najma both claimed big victories last night in gameweek 10 of the 2025-26 Zain Bahrain Basketball League, currently being played at Zain Basketball Arena in Um Al Hassam Sports Complex.
Manama routed Nuwaidrat 84-50 in a one-sided affair, where the victors held their opponents to a stunning zero points in the entire first quarter.
Donoven Carlisle spearheaded Manama with a monster 20-point, 18-rebound effort. Ahmed Salman chipped in with 16 and Subah Hussain had 15 and 12 rebounds in the game, where they led by as many as 41 points. Quinton Rose paced Nuwaidrat with 16 points in the loss.
With the result, Manama claimed their sixth win in nine outings in this season’s top-tier premier division, while handing Nuwaidrat their ninth defeat in 10 games.
Meanwhile, Najma used a scintillating fourth quarter, where they outscored Hala 28-7, to turn a slim 62-60 advantage to the 23-point blowout.
Ahmed Aldurazi had 26 points including five three-pointers in the victory, while Donovan Smith chipped in with 16 for Najma. Mohammed Hussain scored 21 for Hala, while Shaheed Davis had 13.
Najma won for the fifth time in eight tries this premier league campaign, while Hala lost their seventh game in 10.
Gameweek 10 concludes this evening with a mammoth clash between defending champions Muharraq and title hopefuls Al Ahli, scheduled for an 8pm tip-off at the same venue.
