BASKETBALL – Bahrain lost all three of their games in the eFiba Season Four Middle East Pre-Qualifiers but are still through to the next stage, set to feature teams from across the region.
The competition – which aims to crown the world champions of virtual basketball – is being played in the NBA 2K6 Pro-Am game mode.
Teams advancing from the pre-qualifiers will progress to the regional qualifiers, which are scheduled to be played in the coming weeks.
Qualification will culminate with eight of the best teams from around the world gathering for the highly anticipated eFiba Season Four World Finals in Doha, Qatar, during late April.
In the pre-qualifiers, Bahrain first lost two Lebanon 94-180 in a combined score from two games. They then bowed to Saudi Arabia 105-179, before succumbing to Jordan 151-165.
The Saudis topped the standings with a 3-0 win-loss record, followed by Lebanon at 2-1 and Jordan at 1-2.
All four sides made it through to the regional qualifiers, with their seedings set to determine their next match-ups.
Bahrain’s squad included Abdulaziz Amer, Ebrahim Hasan, Sayed Ali Mahdi, Hisham Ahmed, Hadi Habib, and Danyal Mohammed.
