BASKETBALL – Manama edged past Al Najma 62-58 last night in the 2025-26 Zain Bahrain Basketball League.
Manama overcame a double-digit deficit early in the game and only took the lead late on when Donoven Carlisle scored four unanswered points to turn a 54-56 deficit to a two-point advantage with only two minutes remaining.
Free-throws from Ahmed Salman and Hassan Nowrooz then helped them seal the victory.
Carlisle paced Manama with 19 points in the contest, while Salman added 16 and Ali Jaber had 12.
Donovan Smith had 20 points to lead Najma, but he was their only player in double figures.
Manama improved to a 6-3 win-loss record in the league’s top-tier premier division while Najma went to a 4-4 mark.
