PARA BADMINTON – Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation (BBSF) president Dr Sawsan Taqawi emphasised the significance of the Bahrain BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2026, taking place in the kingdom next month.
The event is organised by the Bahrain Paralympic Committee (BPC) in collaboration with the BBSF and will be held under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa from February 8 to 14.
Dr Taqawi explained that the productive co-operation between the BPC and BBSF has been instrumental in attracting numerous successful championships to the kingdom.
She noted that the Bahrain BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2026 stands out as the most prominent of these events, as it marks the first time the championship will be held in the Middle East.
She added that hosting this prestigious meeting reflects the high level of trust that international sports federations place in Bahrain.
This trust is built upon advanced infrastructures with state-of-the-art sports facilities, organizational excellence with proven capabilities in managing large-scale events, and accumulated expertise with a rich history of hosting major international tournaments.
“We are dedicated to enhancing the participation of our athletes and developing their skills,” she said.
“Bahrain is home to exceptional champions, and our goal is to help them achieve further success and raise the Bahraini flag high in international arenas.”
