Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa received Sumou Holding board of directors chairman Dr Ayedh Al Qahtani, chief executive officer Saeed Al Nahdi and Mazad Company CEO Nezar Habib.
Shaikh Khalid congratulated Sumou Holding officials on winning the public auction for the Marina West project, considering this step an important starting point for reviving the project and transforming it into a promising residential and tourist destination.
Shaikh Khalid highlighted the importance of partnership with the private sector and its effective role in boosting investment in infrastructure and urban development projects.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that success in attracting leading specialised companies to invest in major real estate development projects reflects growing confidence in the national economy.
Shaikh Khalid was briefed on the development vision and the timeline set by the company to resume work on the project, as well as the mechanisms for completing the construction of the residential towers and their associated facilities.
The Deputy Prime Minister explained that the government is keen to provide the necessary support and facilitation to safeguard the rights of all parties, and to ensure that the project becomes a distinctive urban and civilisational addition to the kingdom’s north-western coastline.
Shaikh Khalid also praised the professional role undertaken by Mazad Company in organising and managing public auctions.
