A Kuwaiti woman lost KD290 (BD356) after attempting what she believed was a routine traffic fine payment through the Interior Ministry's official platform.
The victim had accessed the website to pay a fine of KD15 (BD18). However, she was left stunned upon realising that she had been defrauded of KD290. The website she used for the transaction was a fraudulent webpage impersonating the ministry's official site.
An investigation has been launched into the incident. Kuwaiti authorities have cautioned the public to verify the authenticity of any website before sharing financial details.
