GOLF – HIS Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) chairman, and Bapco Energies chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa participated yesterday in the Pro-Am event of the 2026 Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship at Royal Golf Club.
Shaikh Nasser was amongst an elite group of professional and amateur golfers, with SCYS first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa in attendance.
Also on hand was Supreme Council for Environment vice-president, Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club High Committee deputy chairman, and SCYS member Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Nasser won the longest drive contest on the eighth hole and had a strong performance on the day. Shaikh Nasser led Victorious team to third place in the overall ranking, playing alongside superstar professionals Padraig Harrington and Pablo Larrazabal, Moulay Abdullah bin Zaidan, and Mike Lorenzo-Vera.
Shaikh Nasser affirmed that the efforts made by tournament organisers and Royal Golf Club have contributed to providing an ideal competitive environment for the participants, which enables them to perform at their best on a level that reflects the advanced position Bahrain has reached in the sporting arena.
The Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship is one of the most prominent sporting events hosted by the kingdom, contributing to enhancing its position as a leading sporting destination.
