PARA BADMINTON – THE supreme organising committee for the Bahrain BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2026 held its second meeting, chaired by Bahrain Paralympic Committee president Shaikh Mohamed bin Duaij Al Khalifa.
The meeting aimed to review the latest updates and preparations for the upcoming competition, which will be hosted at the Isa bin Rashid Sports Halls at Isa Sports City in Riffa.
During the meeting, the committee discussed key organisational, technical, and logistical aspects of the preparations. The focus remains on adhering to approved international standards to present a professional model that reflects Bahrain’s capability to host major sporting events, particularly in the Paralympic field.
Following the meeting, committee members conducted a field tour of the venue. They inspected the championships’ facilities and surrounding infrastructure, assessing the level of operational readiness and the mechanisms in place to receive international delegations and athletes.
The supreme organising committee includes a diverse group of leaders from across Bahrain’s sports and governmental sectors. Aside from Shaikh Mohamed, the other members are BPC secretary general Ali Mohamed Al Majed; BPC financial and administrative affairs executive director Shaikh Ahmed bin Salman Al Khalifa; BPC board members Noaman Rashid Al Hassan, Eshaq Ebrahim Eshaq, and Dr Sawsan Taqawi; General Sports Authority facilities director Yousif Duaij Muhoorfi; Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority events and partnerships head Reem Tawfiqi; Ministry of Interior operations director Colonel Hamad Mohamed Al Khayat; Ministry of Information Bahrain Sports Channel head Humood Abdullah Al Jeeb; Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications land transport monitoring and inspection director Eng Shams Rashid Khalfan; and Ministry of Health primary healthcare centres CEO Dr Ejlal Al Alawi.
