PARALYMPIC GAMES – Bahrain’s athletes continued their impressive performance on the second day of the 5th West Asian Paralympic Games (Muscat 2026), securing a remarkable haul of 23 medals, including four gold, three silver and 16 bronze, across athletics and badminton.
Ruba Al Omari claimed gold in discus throw and javelin throw (F55 category), as well as in mixed doubles of badminton (WH1). Saad Saad secured gold in shot put (F32).
Amal Fardan won silver in discus throw (F45), Mariam Saber in shot put (F46), and Zainab Ali in mixed doubles of badminton (SU5).
Bronze medal winners included Mariam Al Humaidi in discus throw (F46), Saad Saad in club throw (F32), Ahmed Noah in 100m, 200m and 400m wheelchair races, Yousef Al Jallas in discus throw (F57), Abdullah Fouad in shot put (F11), Nassar Al Muraisi in 200m wheelchair race (T54), Ali Buqais in discus throw (F40), Zahra Al Jabouri in javelin throw (F34), and Fatima Al Sayed in 100m race (T37).
Rouba Al Omari in doubles (WH1), Ahmed Bouster in singles (SL4), Nabil Al Dosari in singles (SL3), and Elias Al Yasi in singles and mixed doubles (SU5) all took home bronze in badminton.
Bahrain Paralympic Committee secretary general Ali Mohammed Al Majed affirmed that the achievements of Bahrain’s champions at the West Asian Paralympic Games – Muscat 2026 reflect the advanced level of Bahraini Paralympic sports and the success of the preparation programmes developed by the committee.
“This outstanding result serves as a strong incentive to continue achieving more honourable results during the remaining competitions of the tournament and to raise the flag of the Kingdom of Bahrain high at the event,” he added.
