A swing ride collapsed at a fairground in Faridabad, India, on Saturday, tragically claiming the life of a police officer and injuring 13 others.
The incident occurred at approximately 7pm during the Surajkund Mela when a popular attraction, known as the “Tsunami” swing ride, reportedly malfunctioned and suddenly crashed with several riders on board.

Video footage of the accident shows the structure collapsing to the ground, triggering panic among onlookers. Several visitors suffered injuries, ranging from minor bruises to more serious trauma, and were rushed to hospital for treatment.
An on-duty police officer, identified as Inspector Jagdish Prasad, sustained severe head injuries while attempting to rescue others and later succumbed to his injuries.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini stated that the government is fully committed to providing all possible assistance to the injured and their families with "utmost promptness and sensitivity".
