A minor fire that broke out at the Al Fateh Building at the Salmaniya Medical Complex was quickly contained and extinguished by Civil Defence, Government Hospitals confirmed.
Specialised teams successfully implemented safety and security protocols to ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and medical staff, and the incident passed with no injuries.
“The Al-Fateh Building will be temporarily closed for three days as a precautionary measure, in order to complete inspections and ensure the building’s readiness before resuming normal operations,” the Government Hospitals said in a statement.
“We advise patients with appointments to contact the hospital and reschedule on alternative dates.
“In order to ensure continuity of healthcare services for everyone, emergency cases will be distributed among other clinics and medical facilities to ensure patients receive the necessary medical care without any delay.”
