Maintenance works at mosques in Hamad Town, including expansions, new parking areas and construction, have been expedited ahead of the holy month.
This was revealed during an inspection by Northern Municipal Council member Abdulla Al Qubaisi, who confirmed that, in co‑operation with the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry’s Sunni and Jaffari Endowments Directorates, work has been completed at two mosques – the Sayida Zainab Mosque in Block 1209 and the Fatima Bint Al Rasool Mosque in Block 1210.
Additionally, two contracts have been signed with undisclosed donors to complete works on the Bilal Bin Rabah Mosque in Block 1205 and the Abdulla bin Owfa Mosque in Block 1209.
Expansion works have also been approved for the Abdulrahman bin Owf Mosque and Umm Salmah Mosque in Block 1209 and the Ramla Bint Abi Sufian Mosque in Block 1205.
Temporary cabins have been allocated for the construction of Ibadah bin Samit Mosque in Block 1210 and Khadijah Umm Al Muminin Mosque in Block 1205, pending registration and documentation procedures.
Meanwhile, three sites have been approved for car parks at the Karim Ahl Al Bait Mosque in Block 1207, the Sayida Khadijah Mosque and Al Zahra Mosque in Block 1205. Officials also followed up on procedures relating to the construction of Khatem Al Anbiya Mosque in Block 1205, as well as the Imam Al Mahdi Mosque on Road 536 in Hamad Town, Block 1205.
