CRICKET – SHAHEEN Group lifted the BTCO League-GPL T16 title after producing a dominant, all-round performance in a 90-run victory against Target CC in the tournament’s grand final.
The Bahrain Tennis Cricket Organisation (BTCO) event was organised by Tornado Bahrain Cricket Club.
In the 16-over final, Shaheen posted an imposing 188 all out total in 14.5 overs, driven by a superb innings of 66 runs from Atiullah Shah. His composed yet aggressive knock laid the foundation for their score and earned him the Player of the Match award for the final.
Target’s chase never gained momentum as Shaheen’s bowlers delivered a clinical performance. Tabrej Alam was outstanding, claiming five wickets in four overs.
Target were eventually bowled out for 98 in 14.4 overs, sealing a comprehensive victory for Shaheen Group.
For Target, Nayef Muhajir had an excellent spell of four wickets in four overs. Finishing third in the league behind Shaheen and Target were Star XI.
A number of individual honours were also awarded to players for their strong performances in the competition. Target’s Zamim Ullah was selected as both Player of the Tournament and Best Batter, while Kunjumon from Sariga Cricketerz was named Best Bowler.
The prize presentation ceremony was attended by distinguished guests from Santy Excavation and Construction, the Bahrain Cricket Federation, Shaheen Group, and BTCO.
