A 31-year-old individual has been arrested for allegedly luring and blackmailing a 17-year-old girl through a social media platform.
The Child Protection in Cyberspace Unit at the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security launched an investigation after receiving a complaint.
Following the inquiry, sufficient evidence was gathered, leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
Legal measures have been initiated, and the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
The Unit emphasised the importance of continuous parental supervision and educating children about the risks associated with social media and other online platforms.
