During the introduction of Victor Wembanyama at the NBA All-Star Game, the on-screen graphic accidentally displayed a map of France that had not been used since 987.
The 1,000-year-old map depicted the Kingdom of the Franks under Hugh Capet. It failed to provide an accurate view of modern French territory, as it included land from modern-day Belgium and ignored the 1477 French annexation of the Kingdom of Burgundy and the 1860 Treaty of Turin.
French President Emmanuel Macron took to social media to joke about the blunder, posting: "I want to reassure our neighbours, we did not provide the map," on his X account.
