A shocking tragedy in the Indian state of Rajasthan has left families devastated after two sisters allegedly died by suicide during their wedding preparations, just hours before guests were expected to arrive.
Shoba, 25, and her sister Vimla, 23, were due to be married in a village in Jodhpur on Saturday. According to police reports, the sisters had retired to bed at around midnight on Friday.
However, family members noticed the sisters' deteriorating health in the early hours of Saturday morning and rushed them to a private hospital. Sadly, doctors declared both women dead on arrival.
No suicide notes were found at the scene, and police have launched an investigation into the incident. Preliminary findings suggest the sisters consumed a poisonous substance, but authorities stated that the exact cause of death will only be confirmed once the autopsy is completed.
