GOLF – CAREER Grand Slam winner Rory McIlroy will return to Wentworth Club in England for the 2026 DP World Tour’s BMW PGA Championship from September 17 to 20.
The world number two will arrive at the iconic Surrey venue after a landmark 2025 season in which he won the Masters, lifted the Amgen Irish Open trophy for the second time, added two further titles on the PGA Tour, and helped Europe earn their first away win in the Ryder Cup since 2012 at Bethpage Black, New York, in the US.
The 2014 BMW PGA Championship winner rounded out the year by being crowned Race to Dubai champion for a seventh time – and fourth in succession.
“I’ve had some great results at Wentworth in the past, and I always enjoy returning to the BMW PGA Championship,” said the Northern Irishman. “No doubt the crowds will be out in force once again, and I’m looking forward to the week.”
