Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad, and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Majesty’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday opened the Shaikha Nayla bint Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Mosque in Marah Al Hejin, Southern Governorate.
The ceremony was attended by Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa; Supreme Council for Environment vice-president, Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club High Committee deputy chairman, and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports member Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa; Retired Major General Shaikh Ahmed bin Salman bin Duaij Al Khalifa; and Sunni Endowments Council chairman Dr Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Hajeri, along with a number of officials.
Shaikh Nasser unveiled the mosque’s commemorative plaque and toured its facilities, reviewing the services provided to worshippers.
He said that Bahrain’s continued focus on building and renovating mosques during the prosperous era of His Majesty reflects its commitment to promoting the values and teachings of Islam based on moderation, tolerance and fraternity within society.
Shaikh Nasser highlighted the role of mosques in strengthening religious values, reinforcing national unity, consolidating social cohesion and fostering a cohesive society inspired by Islamic principles.
He expressed appreciation to all those who contributed to the construction of the mosque, noting that it will serve citizens and residents in performing their religious rituals.
