HANDBALL – AL Shabab defeated lowly Bahrain Club 29-22 last night in their week 13 clash of the 2025-26 Khalid Bin Hamad Bahrain Handball League.
The game was the first official match in the kingdom’s national sports leagues to be held since the beginning of the unfortunate events that have been taking place in Bahrain since last weekend.
It was played at the Bahrain Handball Federation Arena in Um Al Hassam Sports Complex and with no spectators in attendance, which is one of the requirements for the kingdom’s local sporting events to resume.
Shabab led 16-13 at the half and closed out the contest strong in the final 30 minutes of play.
With the result, Shabab claimed their 10th victory in 12 outings and they improved to second place on the league table with 32 points. They are just a single point behind leaders Al Najma, who are undefeated in 11 games.
Shabab also handed Bahrain Club their league-worst 11th defeat in 12 tries.
