An Interior Ministry representative has clarified that warning sirens are activated only when an active threat is confirmed to be targeting areas within Bahrain.
He explained that in some cases, explosions may be heard from outside Bahrain’s airspace or from projectiles directed towards unpopulated areas.
In such instances, no threat is posed to civilians, and therefore sirens are not triggered.
Bahrain TV announced updates regarding the ongoing situation following a special briefing held at 6pm today.
