Thirteen of Bahrain’s 33 emergency shelters have been activated, with 10 currently fully operational and accommodating a total of 2,600 evacuees, it has been revealed.
Bahrain TV announced updates regarding the ongoing situation following a special briefing held at 6pm today.
The National Centre for Civil Emergency Management is co-ordinating between government authorities.
The broadcast also stated that Civil Defence received 90 reports related to falling debris or damage to buildings since Saturday.
Remote learning and public sector operations continue without interruption, and movement on the roads and the King Fahad Causeway remains unaffected.
Meanwhile, the Coastguard is operating at maximum alert, conducting round‑the‑clock patrols to protect merchant vessels, fishing boats, and marine infrastructure. Sailors have been prohibited from entering the northern area of Bahrain’s territorial waters.
