The UK’s Royal Air Force (RAF) will be flying its jets above Bahrain, to help defend the kingdom, according to British Ambassador Alastair Long.
The development comes after a conversation between His Majesty King Hamad and the UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, as well as the convening of the defence working group of the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement, a trilateral defence pact between Bahrain, UK and the US.
“I am delighted to tell people that the UK will be flying RAF jets above Bahrain, as a contribution to the defence of Bahrain, one of our closest allies in the whole world,” Mr Long noted in his message, posted yesterday on the British Embassy’s social media channels.
