Not for a single moment have I felt any doubt about the ability of the Bahrain Defence Force to defend the nation and protect its people. Had the men of the Defence Force not possessed such readiness, competence and courage, the hostile intentions behind the aggressive Iranian attack could have succeeded in causing far greater damage to our country.
Bahrain often stands on the frontline of hostile Iranian actions. Our airspace is extensive, while our land is geographically limited, leaving little room for manoeuvre and making the task of defence far from simple.
Yet the determination shown by the Bahrain Defence Force has once again disproved the assumption held by some that it is merely a small force surrounded by a vast and turbulent region filled with armies and weapons.
What we witnessed in the Defence Force’s response to this unlawful assault on Bahraini territory reflected composure, sound judgment and disciplined professionalism.
This was not a spontaneous reaction, but rather the result of sustained institutional work and a strategic vision that consistently places the security of the nation, its citizens and its residents above all other considerations.
Through this approach, the kingdom’s wise leadership delivered a firm and unmistakable message to anyone who might seek to violate Bahrain’s sovereignty or threatening its territory.
In the same context, the remarkable efforts of the Ministry of Interior also deserve recognition. The ministry continues to present a respected model in balancing security responsibilities with a civilised and measured approach in managing such developments.
Its role extends beyond security alone; it is a key partner in national development and in preserving the stability of Bahrain’s social fabric. This becomes particularly important during periods when the region experiences rising tensions, moments that reveal the kingdom’s advanced ability to handle challenges and crises with calm judgment and capable leadership.
The smooth handling of events, combined with the firm yet responsible enforcement of the law, reflects a mature security culture is consistent with Bahrain’s standing as a state built on institutions and the rule of law.
The speed of response, the visible presence of security personnel across the country, and the strong capability to manage emergencies and unexpected situations with composure and wisdom have all contributed to making Bahrain’s security forces a source of reassurance and confidence for citizens and residents alike.
From a broader Gulf perspective, Bahrain forms an integral part of the collective security framework of the Gulf region. This system has repeatedly proven the strength of the bonds linking the member states of the GCC and the depth of their shared destiny and security cooperation. Bahrain’s security is inseparable from the security of its Gulf partners, just as their stability is inseparable from ours. This principle continues to be reaffirmed through the solidarity and coordination that emerge whenever the region faces challenges.
The confidence that the people place in the kingdom’s wise leadership remains the central force behind these achievements. This trust arises from a firm belief that the leadership places the welfare of the people above all else and steers the nation with calm judgment through difficult circumstances.
At this moment, I can only express sincere appreciation and gratitude to every soldier, police officer and member of the Bahrain Defence Force and all of our security institutions.
Standing beside them and supporting their efforts is both a national and moral responsibility, because they are the shield that protects our aspirations and the future we hope to build.
Today, I feel genuine reassurance and complete confidence, knowing that we are protected by advanced defensive capabilities and by institutions prepared to safeguard this nation. What our nation needs from all of us now is patience, courage and unity as we move through these difficult days together.
