The Permanent Representatives of the GCC member states to the United Nations in New York met UN Secretary-General António Guterres, amid the Iranian aggression targeting the GCC states.
The meeting was chaired by Ambassador Jamal Fares Alrowaiei, Bahrain’s Permanent Representative to the UN in New York, in the kingdom’s capacity as Chair of the 46th session of the GCC.
They reviewed the latest developments in the GCC countries resulting from the Iranian aggression, which targeted civilian facilities, vital infrastructure, energy installations, as well as airports and seaports.
Such acts constitute a violation of the Charter of the UN, international law, and the principles of good neighbourliness.
The Permanent Representatives also provided briefings outlining the scale of the targeting faced by the GCC states, while affirming the full capability and highest readiness of the air defence systems to confront and neutralise the aggression.
