Health Ministry Undersecretary Dr Lulwa Rashid Showaiter chaired an extraordinary virtual meeting of GCC health ministry undersecretaries, held in co-ordination with the GCC General Secretariat and attended by counterparts from across member states.
She affirmed Bahrain’s commitment to advancing joint Gulf health co-operation, with a focus on closer co-ordination and deeper integration between national health systems to build a resilient, unified regional framework capable of addressing emerging challenges.
Dr Showaiter said the meeting reflects the strong ties and sustained co-ordination among GCC countries, as well as a shared approach to responding to current developments. She expressed Bahrain’s appreciation for the efforts of armed forces and security agencies across the GCC in safeguarding regional stability and confronting threats, commending the complementary role of government entities in protecting communities and vital infrastructure.
The Undersecretary also praised the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) for its high state of readiness, alongside the Interior Ministry, the National Guard, and other security bodies, noting their co-ordinated efforts in maintaining security, protecting lives and property, and responding effectively to developments.
She added that GCC health systems have demonstrated strong institutional capability and preparedness, underscoring the importance of continuing to develop joint mechanisms, exchange expertise, and adopt best practices to strengthen emergency response and reinforce regional health security.
