Bahrain and Egypt have demanded that Iran stop its continuous and blatant attacks targeting regional states.
They also stressed the utmost importance of halting threats to the freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
His Majesty King Hamad and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi yesterday emphasised during their meeting that the strait was a vital international waterway for global energy and trade.
The meeting was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and several ministers.
The leaders affirmed that protecting maritime corridors is a shared international responsibility requiring global and regional co-operation.
His Majesty expressed pride in President Al Sisi’s visit, which embodies the depth of the long-standing ties between the two countries. He also said Egypt represents a fundamental pillar of regional stability.
His Majesty expressed gratitude to the visiting leader for his solidarity with the measures taken by Bahrain to defend its sovereignty, security and the safety of its people.

His Majesty and the Egyptian President reaffirmed their support for UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which strongly condemned and demanded an immediate end to all Iranian attacks on the Gulf states and Jordan.
The King, who earlier welcomed the visiting leader along with HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, hosted a luncheon in honour of President Al Sisi. His Majesty later bid him farewell. HRH Prince Salman was present.
President Al Sisi sent a message to the King thanking him for the warm hospitality.
