Deputy Prime Minister and Water Resources Council chairman Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa issued an edict amending certain provisions of Edict (1) of 2023 regarding the formation and organisation of the work of the Permanent Technical Advisory Committee affiliated with the Water Resources Council.
The edict stipulates that the committee shall be formed, and referred to in this decision (as the Committee), under the chairmanship of Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Yasser Humaidan, with the membership of:
The Under-Secretary for Agricultural Affairs and Animal Resources at the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry.
The Vice President for Water Affairs at the Electricity and Water Authority.
The assistant under-secretary for Fiscal and Budget Policies at the Finance and National Economy Ministry.
The assistant under-secretary for Sanitation at the Works Ministry.
The assistant under-secretary for Public Health at the Health Ministry.
The assistant under-secretary for Industrial Development at the Industry and Commerce Ministry.
The Director of Climate Change and Sustainable Development at the Supreme Council for Environment.
The Director of Geographic Information Systems at the Information and eGovernment Authority.
A professor of Water Resources Management at the Arabian Gulf University.
The membership term in the Committee shall be three years, renewable for similar periods.
The chairman of the committee shall establish a co-ordination office for the committee and its affiliated teams. It will prepare agendas and notify members thereof, record minutes of meetings, and carry out other tasks required by the responsibilities of the committee and its affiliated teams.
All relevant officials, each within their capacity, shall implement the provisions of this edict, which shall take effect from the day of its publication in the Official Gazette.
