MOTORSPORT – BAHRAINI-British motor racing team 2 Seas Motorsport have confirmed that reigning GT3 drivers’ champions Charles Dawson and Kiern Jewiss will be making a one-off return to the British GT Championship this weekend in the 2026 season’s opening round at Silverstone Circuit in the UK.
Dawson and Jewiss captured their historic crown last campaign while helping spearhead 2 Seas to the GT3 teams’ title – completing an historic double for the squad. But for 2026, they have moved on to compete with 2 Seas over the full calendar of the 2026 GT World Challenge (GTWC) Europe.
The pair will be racing, however, in the Silverstone 500 this Saturday and Sunday – making for a sensational three-car entry in the highly anticipated meeting for 2 Seas, co-owned by Bahrain’s Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Dawson and Jewiss will get behind the wheel of the team’s #1 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo amongst the British GT’s Pro-Am field, which will also feature their teammates Kevin Tse and Ben Green in their #18 Mercedes-AMG.
Aaron Walker and a yet-to-be-confirmed partner will be getting into the cockpit of 2 Seas’ #15 contender in the Silver-Am category.
All three cars are part of a 29-strong provisional entry list for the Silverstone 500, published yesterday by championship organisers.
Dawson and Jewiss hit the track for 2 Seas earlier this month in the GTWC Europe’s curtain-raising event at Circuit Paul Ricard in France, where they came close to bagging a podium in class after finishing fourth amongst Bronze Cup runners in their #222 Mercedes-AMG. They will now be looking to translate their impressive pace to more British GT success in Silverstone, where they finished second overall last year.
“Charles and Kiern had a fantastic run during 2025, and their performance at the Silverstone 500 helped build the foundation for their championship charge,” said Shaikh Isa.
“They ran a great race, and only narrowly missed out on the overall win.
“It is great to have them back in the British GT paddock for this event, and joining us as we kick off our 2026 British GT programme.
“It was a solid start to their 2026 campaign in Paul Ricard, so let’s see what we can achieve at Silverstone.”
Dawson commented: “We had a brilliant season in 2025 but narrowly losing to Darren [Leung] and Dan [Harper] at Silverstone was a big disappointment. Having the chance to right that wrong, with Kiern, is our primary motivation for returning.
“The strategy-focused format is also now quite unusual within GT racing, while the longer race distance aligns with what we’re doing in Europe this year.”
This weekend’s meeting will feature practice, pre-qualifying, and qualifying on Saturday. The three-hour race to flag off the 2026 campaign will then be held on Sunday, beginning at 3pm, Bahrain time.
The Silverstone 500 is the first of eight rounds on the British GT Championship’s 2026 calendar. Rounds two and three are set for May 23 to 25 at Oulton Park, round four on June 20 and 21 at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, rounds five and six on August 15 and 16 at Snetterton Circuit, round seven on September 5 and 6 at Donington Park, and then round eight on September 26 and 27 at Brands Hatch.
