His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday received Sir John Chipman, the outgoing executive chairman of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), at Gudaibiya Palace, on the end of his tenure.
During the meeting, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister highlighted the importance of continued co-operation between Bahrain and leading international research institutions, including the IISS.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister commended the efforts of Sir John, commenting that his work has contributed to further strengthening co-operation between the kingdom and the IISS, particularly in the organisation of the Middle East’s premier security summit, the Manama Dialogue.
HRH Prince Salman noted that the Manama Dialogue has established itself as a leading international forum, supported by broad participation from decision-makers and experts in security affairs from across the world.
He wished Sir John continued success in his future endeavours.
For his part, Sir John expressed his appreciation for HRH Prince Salman’s continued support and commitment to advancing co-operation between Bahrain and the institute, wishing the kingdom continued progress and prosperity.
Prime Minister’s Court Minister Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa also attended the meeting.
