BAHRAIN came a solid fifth yesterday in the men’s teams showjumping competition at the fourth GCC Games in Doha, Qatar.
The host Qataris bagged the gold medals, while the UAE took silver and Kuwait won bronze. Despite missing out on the podium, the kingdom’s jockeys remained in high spirits and are fully focused on the upcoming individual competition, which is scheduled for tomorrow.
Also yesterday, brothers Hussain and Haider Maroom could not contend for a podium in the men’s 10-ball doubles contest, and will today begin their medal bid in men’s nine-ball singles.
Also today, the shooting events get underway, with the men’s and women’s skeet 75 targets qualification rounds.
