ATHLETICS – Zahra Mohamed and Youssef El Moumni were the winners of their respective categories in the annual Jahez Run 2026, organised by Bahrain Road Runners (BRR) under the umbrella of the Bahrain Athletics Association at Mohammed bin Zayed Nature Reserve.
The event featured a five-kilometre road race that attracted more than 850 participants of different ages and nationalities.
The programme, which was witnessed by over 1,000 spectators, also included dedicated races for children, encouraging family participation and promoting healthy lifestyles among younger generations.
Joining Mohamed on the women’s overall podium were runner-up Rosie Jessop and third-placer Maryam Alkhalasi. Amongst the men, finishing behind El Moumni were Muthana Hamed and Saud Abdulaziz in second and third place overall, respectively.
At the conclusion of the event, the overall winners and the top finishers in the various age categories were awarded their trophies in the podium ceremonies.
The BRR committee expressed its sincere appreciation to title sponsor Jahez for its valuable support and contribution to the success of the race.
The committee also thanked all supporting partners, including the General Sports Authority, Bahrain Olympics Committee, Mohammed bin Zayed Nature Reserve, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Works, Royal Bahrain Hospital, Mayna, Pocari Sweat, and the Bahrain Volunteers team.
