His Majesty King Hamad has expressed pride in the unity, cohesion, and solidarity of Bahraini society, as well as in the honourable positions consistently demonstrated by its people.
He praised the strong bonds and spirit of affection that Bahrainis have maintained throughout history as he congratulated them on the New Hijri Year 1448.
The King also exchanged cables of congratulations with His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the occasion.
The leadership exchanged greetings with leaders of GCC, Arab and Islamic countries.
His Majesty prayed to Almighty God to make the new year one of goodness, blessings, progress and prosperity for Bahrain and all Muslim countries, and to grant the region and the world peace, security, stability and prosperity.
He affirmed that the anniversary of the Prophet Mohammad’s migration (Hijrah) is a blessed and significant occasion from which Muslims draw inspiration from the noble values and lofty principles of Islam.
The King affirmed Islam’s emphasis on human coexistence, tolerance, moderation, peace and compassion.
He noted that these values constitute a deeply rooted and enduring approach in Bahrain.
His Majesty commended the citizens’ commitment to human values based on respect for all people and religions.
