The Catholic community of Bahrain came together to celebrate the feast of the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. A special pontifical mass was conducted in Sacred Heart Church – the Mother Church of the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia, which was declared a ‘Vicariate of the Sacred Heart of Jesus’ last year. Apostolic Vicar of Northern Arabia Bishop Aldo Berardi presided over the mass alongside Apostolic Nuncio to Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar Archbishop Eugene Nugent. They were joined by priests serving in Bahrain, members of religious communities and faithful from across the kingdom. The event is one of the most significant feasts in the Catholic liturgical calendar, and highlights the love, mercy and compassion of Christ for humanity, serving as a reminder of the Church’s mission to reflect and share that love.
